Smarty Pants

With the recent new release of Coda that includes a plugin system, I started to think about a plugin I could need (Coda already has almost everything I want…).

I remembered Smarty Pants, a perl script that changes typographic mistakes when typing ASCII text to the correct signs formatted into html entities.

It was easy job to make it a Coda plugin so I asked John Gruber if he would be agree to let me distribute this plugin. Here it is!

Smarty Pants 1.5.1 for Coda

Dear Sir, sometimes I experience that Coda becomes unresponsive and has to be terminated when running the SmartyPants plug-in. Are you aware of this bug? Thanks a lot in advance.

Best, T.

Hi,
I must say I don’t use it so often, I didn’t experience such a bug. I’ll do some tests.
Also, I wanted to update it to allow using it on a whole document or only a selected text. But first, I need to find some time to work on it…
